Cancer Survivorship Programs: Who, What and How?

The 2012 Nursing Program: Advancing Oncology Nursing™ webinar series will provide the oncology nurse with comprehensive and clinically relevant information regarding the management of patients with cancer. This series will focus on genetic testing for breast and ovarian cancer, cancer pain management, the challenges of oral therapy regimens, dermatologic toxicities, nursing considerations for advanced lung cancer and advanced colorectal cancer, and the nurse's role in cancer survivorship care. Oncology nurses will leave this program with information to provide the best clinical care and patient education to further improve their patients' quality of life.

Target Audience

This webinar series is designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses who manage patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

Following this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the four components of survivorship care
  • Describe long-term/late effects and secondary malignancies associated with cancer survivors
  • Outline the role of the oncology nurse in delivering survivorship care
