NCCN 2012 Webinar: Recent Advances in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

This webinar is designed to provide an in-depth analysis of the evidence and clinical decision-making that led to the development of the NCCN Guidelines® for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Participants will learn how to implement the NCCN Guideline recommendations into their practice and gain a clear understanding of the most up-to-date treatment recommendations for this disease. As research continues in this area and new information emerges, it is critical that clinicians are kept up-to-date and informed. This webinar will communicate the NCCN Guidelines in a direct and interactive way to community oncologists and other clinical professionals.

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of oncologists, pathologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

Following this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the role of cytogenetic/molecular markers and risk stratification utilized in AML
  • Discuss the current approaches to risk-adapted therapy for younger patients with AML
  • Summarize the treatment options for older patients with AML according to stratification by performance status
  • Review recent clinical trial data with new combinations or investigational agents
  • Counsel patients regarding disease management options, including discussions of potential clinical trial participation, as appropriate
