Monthly Oncology Tumor Boards: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Individualized Patient Care - Ovarian Cancer

September 25, 2018

Sequencing Therapy for Patients with Ovarian Cancer
Although women with ovarian cancer often respond after first-line treatment, they typically relapse. However, they also often respond to recurrence therapy and may need multiple lines of recurrence therapy. New regimens for recurrence therapy for ovarian cancer, such as PARP inhibitor therapy, have recently been added to the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) Ovarian Cancer.  Oncologists need to be aware of the most recent recommendations for ovarian cancer, including how to select the most appropriate first-line, maintenance, and recurrence therapies based on histology. Health care providers also need to know how to appropriately sequence multiple lines of therapy, including the newer therapies.
