Archived Monthly Oncology Tumor Boards: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Individualized Patient Care - Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)

Emerging Strategies for Pediatric ALL Management
Current pediatric ALL clinical outcomes are significant based on advances in approaches to risk stratification that guide tailored interventions; however, many patients relapse and experience multiple relapses. One clinical strategy has employed increased use of novel immunotherapies in pediatric ALL, which present with unique toxicities, and precipitate the need for guidelines regarding effective supportive care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. Another strategy is aimed at elucidating our understanding of the underlying biology of relapse and determining ways to modify therapy based on patient genetic and pharmacogenomic factors. Informing clinicians about these approaches will shed light on new prognostic markers that could be targeted in pediatric ALL to enhance therapeutic efficacy and minimize short- and long-term treatment-related toxicities.

Target Audience

This program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.

NCCN continuing education considers “relevant financial relationships” as financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months that create a conflict of interest. NCCN does not set a minimal dollar amount for relationships to be significant. Inherent in any amount is the incentive to maintain or increase the value of the relationship.
