NCCN Pharmacy Updates: The Evolving Landscape of Maintenance Therapy for Ovarian Cancer
The rapidly evolving landscape of maintenance therapy for ovarian cancer, coupled with advances in understanding of genetic and molecular contributions, has resulted in a complex maintenance treatment paradigm. Thus, it can be challenging for clinicians to stay up to date with rapidly emerging data and an evolving treatment landscape. Staying abreast of current best practices for maintenance therapy is often difficult for busy clinicians. This webinar will discuss key concepts in maintenance therapy for ovarian cancer, review clinical efficacy and safety data on potential treatment options and identify and address special considerations for monitoring and patient/caregiver education.
This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists, physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.
Following this activity, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate increased knowledge regarding the safety and efficacy data evaluating PARP inhibitors and antiangiogenic agents as maintenance therapy for patients with advanced ovarian cancer
- Identify patients with advanced ovarian cancer who are candidates for maintenance therapy and compare and contrast patient- and case-specific features such as BRCA1/2 mutation testing results when selecting among the maintenance therapy options
- Review monitoring parameters and patient counseling points to take into consideration when using maintenance therapies for advanced ovarian cancer
