Archived Monthly Oncology Tumor Boards: New Targeted Therapies for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
This tumor board will discuss how to select the most appropriate therapy for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using a case-based format. New targeted therapy regimens are being rapidly approved for patients with metastatic NSCLC and have been shown to improve outcomes for these patients. The NCCN Guidelines® for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer are updated at least once a year and typically update more frequently to include new FDA approvals and significant new interventions from the biomedical literature. The rapid pace of these updates makes it challenging for health care providers to stay informed about the newest recommendations.
Target Audience
This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians/oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.
Learning Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss biomarker testing with eligible patients who have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
- Describe the routine established molecular biomarkers for NSCLC.
- Review the recommended targeted therapies for patients with NSCLC who have certain biomarkers.
