ForwardMonthly Oncology Tumor Boards: Management of Early Stage Breast Cancer
Breast cancer treatment continues to evolve. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy and chemotherapy are still the main strategies. For locoregional management, many controversies continue to exist. In order to define clinical situations that require appropriate locoregional therapies and use the right approach, clinicians need to stay up-to-date on the updates and controversies, and this can be challenging. For systemic therapy, there have been changes in the treatment selection, sequencing of treatment, and advances with incorporation of new therapies. Key changes include the increasing use of neoadjuvant therapy, selection of patients for adjuvant chemotherapy, and recommendations for adjuvant therapies. Being familiar with the current management of breast cancer will help clinicians support their patients and to communicate with specialists in the multidisciplinary team.
Target Audience
This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians/oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.
Learning Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:
- Develop evidence-based approaches for the locoregional management of the axilla in patients with early stage breast cancer.
- Describe factors that impact optimal adjuvant treatment decisions for patients with early stage HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.
- Recognize key patient and clinical factors that influence selection of systemic adjuvant therapy for triple negative breast cancer.

There is no minimum financial threshold. We ask for disclosure of ALL financial relationships with ineligible companies, regardless of the amount and regardless of the potential relevance of each relationship to the education.
