Management of Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma

Understanding optimal sequencing for patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma can be a challenge in clinical practice. A uniform treatment approach cannot be applied to all patients. Physicians and other care providers must understand the evolving therapeutic options in the context of the patient's therapeutic and disease history to navigate through the complex treatment landscape.  In addition, it is important to educate patients about their different treatment options (e.g., administration and adverse events) and discuss patient preferences and individual circumstances that may affect treatment recommendations.  A case-based approach to individualizing treatment strategies will help educate health care providers about how to make informed decisions when incorporating immunotherapies into treatment regimens. 

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians/oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

Following this program, participants should be able to:

  • Outline currently available therapeutic options for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. 
  • Select optimal therapeutic options, taking individual patient-characteristics into consideration for choosing appropriate sequence of therapy.
  • Review emerging treatment options and encourage patient participation in clinical trials.
