The Implementation Science of Patient Reported Outcomes

Education on this topic is important to move organizations beyond the collection of patient reported outcomes (PROs) and into the utilization of PRO data. Challenges persist in PRO visualization, achieved through thoughtful workflows and electronic health record integration. The value of PROs to the patient and provider is dependent on data that is accessible, meaningful, and actionable.

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians/oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

Following this program, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of patient reported outcomes (PROs) to the quality of oncology care.
  • Compare and contrast the benefits and challenges associated with PRO collection, integration, and intervention in the oncology setting.
  • Incorporate patient reported outcomes into clinical practice.
