New Targeted Therapies for Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

New targeted therapy and immunotherapy regimens are rapidly being approved for patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The NCCN Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Panel recommends biomarker testing for molecular and immune biomarkers based on clinical trial data showing improved outcomes for eligible patients with metastatic NSCLC who receive appropriate targeted therapies or immunotherapies. Clinicians need to be aware of the most recent recommendations about biomarker testing and the appropriate use of new targeted therapies (including sequencing these therapies, assessing and managing side effects from these therapies), so they can select the most appropriate therapy for their patients with metastatic NSCLC.

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians/oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, PAs, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Following this program, participants should be able to:

  • Review the recommended biomarker tests for eligible patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
  • Describe recommended targeted therapies for eligible patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer and specific actionable mutations.
  • Discuss the need for biomarker testing with your patients who have metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
