Recorded Presentation of NCCN Optimizing Patient Outcomes - From Mutation to Treatment: Understanding the Impact of New Targeted Therapies in Central Nervous System Cancers

The integration of targeted therapies is revolutionizing the management of primary CNS malignancies. Frequently emerging new data can make it challenging to understand the latest systemic therapy recommendations. An increased understanding of the new therapy options will promote appropriate selection and use of these therapies and support patients throughout treatment.

Target Audience

This program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician associates and other health care professionals who treat patients with cancer.  

Learning Objectives

Following this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of MGMT and IDH mutations in determining prognosis and treatment options for CNS cancers.
  • Interpret and apply the latest clinical trial data and Guideline recommendations for the use of targeted therapies such as IDH inhibitors in the treatment of CNS cancers.
  • Discuss the mechanism of action and potential adverse effects of targeted therapies and describe clinical management strategies.
