Challenging Case Review: Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
As a result of the therapeutic advances and clinical research affecting the management of patients with non-small cell lung cancer, clinicians can benefit by comparing their individual skills of diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with their peers. This peer interaction is an integral part in enhancing clinical decision-making skills that can improve patient care.

State Legislation Addressing Specialty Pharmacy Policy
Payer/pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) intrusion into the patient care continuum is a major risk to quality. Treatment delays as a result of white-bagging policies are increasing in frequency. PBM/payer restrictions have increased and are a potential threat to high-quality guideline concordant care as they could steer patients to less efficacious treatments that cost the health plans less money. As the federal government has been slow to act, having an understanding for how state legislatures have begun to address these issues can help those involved in the care of patients with cancer to work within their cancer community to best address these issues at a local level.

Strategies and Initiatives to Improve New Patient Access to Cancer Care
Many cancer centers operate at or close to full capacity and have difficulty scheduling patient appointments in a timely manner. Delayed patient appointments may directly impact patient outcomes when a patient is unable to seek treatment. A delayed appointment may also cause additional distress for patients who are anxious to schedule treatment.
