NCCN Guidelines® Updates: Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer

Though resection is the only chance for a cure of pancreatic cancer, most patients are diagnosed with locally advanced or metastatic disease. New phase 3 trials results using perioperative systemic therapies for patients with advanced disease have significantly improved overall survival. If these therapies are approved, healthcare providers (HCPs) in the community setting will need to learn how best to integrate these new therapies into their clinical practice to benefit patients, including how to quickly identify and manage side effects.

This information was originally presented at the NCCN 2019 Annual Conference: Improving the Quality, Effectiveness, and Efficiency of Cancer Care™ held in Orlando, Florida, March 21-23, 2019.

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of the interprofessional oncology care team, including: physicians/oncologists, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with cancer.

  • Describe the recent changes in recommendations for treatment of pancreatic cancer.

NCCN Medical Education Disclosure Policy

NCCN continuing education considers “relevant financial relationships” as financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months that create a conflict of interest. NCCN does not set a minimal dollar amount for relationships to be significant. Inherent in any amount is the incentive to maintain or increase the value of the relationship.
