Recorded Presentations from the NCCN 2019 Annual Conference: Improving the Quality, Effectiveness, and Efficiency of Cancer Care™

The NCCN 2019 Annual Conference: Improving the Quality, Effectiveness, and Efficiency of Cancer Care™ attracts more than 1,450 registrants from across the United States and the globe including oncologists (in both community and academic settings), oncology fellows, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with cancer. Expert faculty will present data on the latest cancer therapies and provide updates on selected NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®), the data upon which the NCCN Guidelines® are based, and quality initiatives in oncology. Topics change annually but focus on the major cancers and supportive care areas.

This information was originally presented at the NCCN 2019 Annual Conference: Improving the Quality, Effectiveness, and Efficiency of Cancer Care™ held in Orlando, Florida, March 21-23, 2019.

Target Audience

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of the interprofessional oncology care team, including: physicians/oncologists, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarize the current standards of oncology care and key updates in the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) and as appropriate integrate these strategies into the management of patients with: bladder cancer, breast cancer, chronic myeloid leukemia, central nervous system cancers, colon/rectal cancer, ovarian cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, neuroendocrine tumors, pancreatic cancer, and sarcomas.  
  • Evaluate new, emerging and novel therapeutic agents, advances in care, and clinical trials data and apply relevant findings into the management of patients with cancer.
  • Review supportive care issues affecting the management of patients with cancer to improve patient outcomes. 
  • Discuss the changes and challenges affecting staging of multiple cancers using the 8th Edition of the AJCC Staging Manual.
