Monthly Oncology Tumor Boards: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Individualized Patient Care - Endometrial Cancer
Optimizing the Care of Endometrial Cancer - Minimally Invasive Surgery and Systemic Therapy
Minimally invasive surgical techniques for endometrial cancers, particularly robotic-assisted laparoscopy, have been shown to decrease surgical morbidity and improve 30-day postoperative outcomes for appropriately selected patients with endometrial cancer. Despite evidence of improved outcomes, disparities persist in awareness of and access to minimally invasive surgery. Additionally, multiple modalities of systemic therapy can be employed in the treatment of endometrial cancer. Education is required to keep clinicians informed of the appropriate regimens and treatment settings for using chemotherapy, hormone therapy, biologics, and/or immunotherapy.
This program is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.
Following this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe minimally invasive surgical techniques used for treating endometrial cancers.
- Discuss the impact of minimally invasive surgery on patient outcomes.
- Summarize how different types of systemic therapy can be utilized for treating endometrial cancers.
