NCCN Tumor Boards: Advances in the Management of Early-Stage and Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer

January 14, 2027
The standard treatment options for cervical cancer have remained surgical intervention for early-stage disease and concurrent chemoradiation for locally advanced disease for more than twenty years. With the recent phase III trials supporting treatment de-escalation strategies, sentinel lymph node-based staging, fertility-sparing approaches, and induction chemotherapy, new treatment paradigms have emerged changing the treatment landscape for early-stage disease and providing additional options for locally advanced cervical cancer.

Clinicians are challenged to remain up to date about advances in management of cervical cancer. These practice-changing approaches need to be continuously integrated into clinical practice which will likely improve survival rates, reduce recurrence and improve quality of life for cervical cancer patients.
